What the prefered objective?

Post by d3rr3n » Wed Aug 18, 2021 8:46 am

Hi all,

I've been scambaiting for a couple of days and a question popped into my mind. Maybe the question makes no sense but that's what a forum is for :)

What is best, consume the lad's time answering questions, trying to open corrupetd documents, talking to bots, etc., or progress as quickly as you can until you get a bank account to get it reported and then move on with the next lad?

What is more disturbing for the lad's operations?

Many thanks

In terms of the most disruptive, that's getting bank accounts.

The others are a minor irritation to them (although anything that wastes the scammer's time is great as it means less time to focus on real victims) and may waste a few minutes (or hours) out of their day.

Losing a bank account though could set a lad back months, possibly also cost him money if the account is frozen and even put him in the bad books of other scammers. Many accounts used will belong to other scam victims and it will may have taken the lad many months to get the victim to agree to receive money. That relationship will be destroyed when the account is frozen and the bank/authorities tell the victim they are involved in fraud. Also, as many accounts are shared between scammers, it could well cause a falling out between them if one of them causes an account to be shut.

Truly, I wish more new baiters would ask this question, d3rr3n! You probably know this already from reading this thread that we even reward certain activities with flair. Those activities are all useful for our goals (although safaris are on hold until the pandemic has subsided enough that we are not sending infected lads out into the midst of innocent groups) and we even have a sandtimer icon for long baits (eg. wasting much time).

Whenever you attract a lad's attention, that's just a bit less time and effort he has for a *real* victim, so pat yourself on the back and keep baiting safely!
